The first Newsletter sent out by Stitched By Denise.

Welcome to the first Stitched By Denise Newsletter! Thank you for coming to read it, I really appreciate it. I hope this message finds you well.

What can you expect from my newsletters?

First, they won’t all be this long, I just wanted to take the time to introduce the newsletter and talk a little about my website. My intention is to send the newsletters out occasionally- life is pretty busy (single mom, with a teenage son playing travel baseball), and, while writing is not always high on my priority list, I would really like to keep you informed of what I am doing, with regards to classes, workshops, lectures, my art quilts (when I am able to work on them), and other quilting related things. I post on social media, but I never know if their algorithms will let people who follow me see what I post. A newsletter is more direct…if your spam blockers let it through. To help ensure my newsletters have a higher chance of being delivered, I won’t include a lot of images. I believe eye candy is important, so I will also post my newsletters to the Blog section of my website and will include lots of pretty things to look at there.

Tips & Tools

Quilting related Tips and Tools

In addition to letting you know what I am up to, I will have a section with a sewing or quilting related Tip or Tool. I have been a quilter for over 20 years, and a longarmer for more than 6 years, so I have collected some of each.

Walks With Luna

Walks With Luna

My newsletters will often include a section called “Walks With Luna”. We have a delightful 3 ½ year old black lab named Luna, who I take on walks almost every morning. I listen to podcasts and audiobooks while we walk, which often spark musings and ideas I would like to share.

Some notes about my website. When you go to the main page, a pop-up will appear asking you to sign up for my newsletter.  If you are reading this in my Blog, and wish to subscribe to the newsletter, then you can click here to take you back to the home page and the lovely pop-up.

In the upper right-hand corner of every page, it says “Sign In.” What does that mean? Clicking on it will take you to a page where you can create an account (it doesn’t cost anything, it will just ask for your name and email, and have you create a password). This is not the same as subscribing to my newsletter. Creating an account on my website gives you access to the “Members” section. It also allows you to go to the main page without the newsletter pop-up. Speaking of the Members section- what kind of content would you like to see there? I am thinking about short videos that can only be accessed by Members, more detail photos of quilts I am working on currently or have quilted in the past, and other exclusive content. Let me know any other ideas you have.

You will also see a tab for Classes on my website. Right now I have one, Freehand Flower and Frills: Freemotion Quilting. It is an on-demand class, so when you purchase it, you have full access to all the class content, and can work at your own pace in your own home. You can watch, re-watch, and pause the videos while you practice your new skills.

I will add more classes in the coming months. I am thinking of a class teaching how to make a table runner, with blocks you paint using different freezer paper techniques. If you would like to see that, or there is something else you would like to see me teach, please let me know- I am always open to suggestions. 😃

Thank you for reading. I hope you are able to do something creative today.
